Our gates are old but good. Can they be automated rather than replaced?
Usually, yes, and it is the most common job we do in Amersham. The questions are whether the frame and hinges will take the extra work, whether the piers or posts are solid enough to carry a motor, whether the gate moves freely by hand throughout its travel, and where the nearest power supply is.
