Electric gates, barriers and bollards in Watford

Watford is where the town, the motorway network and London meet, and that produces a particular kind of work. It has a dense retail and leisure core with the car parks that go with it, business parks and industrial estates on the western and southern edges, and the M1 and M25 junctions feeding all of it. Car parks in a town like this are managed assets: barriers, bollards, height restriction frames and access control that has to work for staff, customers, deliveries and contractors without any of them queueing on the ring road.

The second strand is managed residential. Watford has a lot of blocks and estates run by managing agents rather than owners, where the gate or barrier belongs to everybody and nobody, and where whoever specifies the maintenance has to be able to justify it to leaseholders. That is the audience our documentation is written for.

The residential half is concentrated on the older streets around Cassiobury and the properties along the west of the town, where the drives are long enough for a gate to make sense. Watford is close enough to our Berkhamsted workshop for a same day emergency run and close enough to London that our city routes go through it.
