These terms are not our terms of sale

This page governs the website. It does not govern any work we do for you.

If you ask us to quote and we go ahead, the terms of that work are the ones in the quotation, order or contract we agree with you at the time, and those terms take precedence over this page for anything to do with the work itself. If you are a consumer, nothing on this page or in any contract with us takes away your legal rights.

What is on this site, and what it is worth

We take real care over what we publish here, and we would rather say nothing than say something we cannot stand behind.

Even so, the information on this site is general information about what we do. It is not professional advice about your gate, your barrier or your site, and you should not treat it as a substitute for someone qualified looking at your actual installation.

This matters most on our safety and compliance pages. Powered gates and barriers can seriously injure people, the standards that apply to them are detailed, and the right answer depends on the specific installation, its setting and who uses it. Anything we publish about safety standards, testing or a duty holder's responsibilities is written to help you understand the subject and ask better questions. It is not a risk assessment of your gate, and it does not tell you whether your particular installation is safe or compliant. Only an inspection can do that. If you think a gate or barrier may be unsafe, stop using it and get it looked at.

We may change, add to or remove anything on this site at any time, and we do not promise that everything here is complete or up to date at the moment you read it.

Quotes and enquiries

Sending us an enquiry, including through the quote form, does not create a contract and does not oblige us to do the work.

Anything we describe on this website as included in a service, a plan or a warranty is a description, not an offer. What you actually get is what is written in the quotation or contract we agree with you.

Quotations are given after we understand the job, which normally means a site survey. A figure discussed before a survey is an indication and can change once we have seen the site.

Using the site properly

You may look at this site, and print or download pages from it, for your own use or for your organisation's internal use.

Please do not:

  • use the site for anything unlawful, or in a way that could damage it or interfere with anyone else's use of it;
  • try to gain access to any part of the site, server or database you are not authorised to reach;
  • introduce anything malicious, or attempt any attack on the site;
  • scrape, harvest or systematically copy the content, or use it to train an automated system, without our written permission;
  • submit anything to us through the site that is false, offensive, unlawful, or that infringes someone else's rights;
  • misuse the quote form, including submitting enquiries automatically or in bulk.

We may restrict or withdraw access to the site if these terms are breached, and we will report anything that looks like a criminal offence.

Anything you send us

If you send us photographs, drawings, specifications or descriptions through this site, you confirm that you are entitled to send them to us and that doing so does not breach anyone else's rights.

You keep ownership of what you send. You give us permission to use it for the purpose you sent it for, which is normally preparing and discussing your quote or carrying out your work.

We will not publish your photographs or use them in our marketing without asking you separately and getting your agreement. How we handle what you send is set out in our privacy policy.

Our content

Links to and from this site

Where we link to another website, we do so because we think it is useful. We do not control those sites and we are not responsible for their content or their privacy practices. Following an external link is at your own risk.

You are welcome to link to this site from your own, provided you do so fairly and do not suggest any association, approval or endorsement that does not exist.

Availability

We would like this site to be available at all times, but we cannot promise it. It may be unavailable for maintenance, or because of something outside our control. We may suspend, withdraw or change any part of it without notice.

Our liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited or excluded. Nothing in these terms affects a consumer's statutory rights.

Subject to that:

  • We provide this website on an "as is" basis, and we do not give any warranty that it will be uninterrupted, error free or free of anything harmful.
  • We are not liable for any loss arising from your reliance on general information published on this site, as opposed to advice we have given you directly about your own installation.
  • If you are using this site for business purposes, we are not liable to you for loss of profit, loss of business, loss of contracts, loss of anticipated savings, loss of data or any indirect or consequential loss, however it arises.
  • If you are a consumer, we are liable for loss you suffer that is a foreseeable result of us breaking these terms, and we are not liable for loss that is not foreseeable.

Your information

How we handle personal information is explained in our privacy policy. What this site stores on your device is explained in our cookie policy.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The version in force is the one on this page, and the date at the top tells you when it last changed. Please check it from time to time.

Law and jurisdiction

These terms, and any dispute arising out of them or out of your use of this site, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer resident elsewhere in the United Kingdom, you may also bring proceedings in your own country's courts.
