Full height turnstiles
Floor to ceiling turnstiles that let one person through at a time, and only the people your access control says can come in. Single or double lane, in the colour you choose, wired into your fobs, cards or readers, and installed and looked after by our own engineers.
- About 25people a minute through each lane
- 2250mmtall, with a 1950mm passage height
- -40 to 60°Cworking range, indoors or outdoors
- IP54protection rating
One person, one turn
A full height turnstile is a rotor of bars inside a cage that reaches from the floor to the top cover, so it can't be climbed over or crawled under. It stays locked until your access control sends it a signal, then lets one person turn it through one section.
- Locks against turning back. Once the rotor has turned 60 degrees it locks, so nobody can push it back the other way.
- Smooth and controlled. A moulded mechanism with a hydraulic damper, released by a solenoid, so the rotor turns smoothly and stops cleanly.
- Both ways, or one. Two-way as standard, or set to work in one direction only.
- Free passage in an emergency. On a fire alarm or emergency signal the rotor turns freely in both directions, or it can be set to lock one way and stay free the other.
- Lane lights. An indicator shows people when they can go and when they can't.
One lane or two
The single turnstile has a classic fully enclosed design with a distinctive top cover. A column box built into the frame has plenty of room inside for a card reader or any other access control device, however big.
The double puts two lanes under one top cover, for entrances where people arrive in numbers, such as a shift change, or where one lane goes in and the other comes out.

Colours, rotors and the options that suit your site
- Any colour. Black, grey, green, gold and woodgrain, or any RAL colour you give us. The LED colours can be changed too.
- The right metal for the site. Powder coated 304 stainless steel as standard, 316 stainless steel where it's wet or near the sea, or galvanised.
- Rotor arms. Straight bars or U-shaped bars, and an X or Y rotor on most versions.
- A cut-out for your reader. The column box is cut to fit your card reader or scanner, whatever its size.
- Made to fit. Dimensions can be adjusted to the site, and we can have it drawn in place from photographs of your site before you commit.

Mounting base and canopy
A raised base for wiring above the floor, a forklift base for temporary sites and events, and a canopy that can carry lights.
Barrier panels
Matching fence panels either side, with spikes or in stainless steel tube, in 304 or 316 stainless or powder coated steel.
Control panel
A desk or wall panel with buttons to open each way, lock each way, set free passage each way, and an emergency release.
Works with the system you have, or a new one
The turnstile opens on a simple relay signal and talks RS485 or RS232, so it works with almost any access control: fobs, cards, keypads, fingerprint readers and QR codes. If you already have a system, we connect the turnstile to it. If you don't, we can supply a complete one, and wire it into your gates and barriers too, so one credential works across the whole site.

The sites that use them
- Construction sites. Counted, controlled entry for the workforce, on a forklift base that moves as the site changes.
- Factories and distribution centres. A pedestrian route beside the vehicle gate, so people and lorries don't share the same opening.
- Utilities and secure compounds. Where a pedestrian gate on its own could be tailgated or held open.
- Sports grounds and venues. Steady, one at a time entry and a free exit when the event ends.
Common questions
What is a full height turnstile?
It's a turnstile that runs from the ground to a cover above head height, with a rotor of bars turning inside a cage. Because there's no gap above or below, it can't be climbed over or crawled under, and it lets one person through at a time once your access control says they can come in.
How many people can a full height turnstile let through?
About 25 people a minute through each lane. A double turnstile has two lanes under one cover, which roughly doubles that, or lets one lane run in and the other out.
What happens to a turnstile when the fire alarm goes off?
It takes a signal from the fire alarm and releases, so the rotor turns freely and people can get out without presenting a fob or card. It can also be set to stay locked one way and free the other, depending on your fire strategy.
Can a turnstile work with the fobs and cards we already use?
Usually, yes. The turnstile opens on a simple relay signal, which almost every access control system can give, and it also has RS485 and RS232 connections. The column box is cut to fit your reader. We check your system at the survey.
